Mark Me

A series of photographs I took, of a conceptual based sculpture project.

I took a rubber cast of my thumb, then made duplicates in plaster. These would act as piece of chalk, I would then use to sign my initials into various places inside and out of the city and suburbs where i live and work. The final piece were the photographs, and the little remaining stubs I had left from writing. I would leave a completed thumb in every tiny location I placed them.

This was a reaction to me desire for making my own mark on the world, to establish who i was, my name, what i owned. Growing up with a twin, you get grouped into one being, and its a constant journey to find your own place in the world.
